Walla Walla : a Photo Journal

Stan Clark from Walla Walla Community College and and vineyard owner Dave Jones (right) describe some of the nuances of the Scott-Henry trellising system, as used in the Dwelley Jones vineyard. We also share in the fruit of a previous vintage from this vineyard.

Above, wheat still retains its prominence in Walla Walla Valley; indeed, the vineyards seem like islands in a sea of wheat. Above right, flowering of the vines is just beginning to take place.

Above: the Walla Walla AVA stradles the Washington-Oregon borders, where the elevation is lower, and the signs of a former river bed abound with the rocky soils, as here at Cayuse Vineyards.
