As seen from Foxen Cyn Road, the San Rafael Mountains form the Northern boundary of the only east-west traverse of shoreline between Alaska and Cape Horn. Here, a unique coastal range of east-west running valleys open up to the Pacific Ocean, allowing for many micro-climates.
